Summary:
The Sustainability Analyst plays an integral role in advancing Casella's future sustainability goals.
The incumbent is responsible for gathering and synthesizing annual sustainability data, including our greenhouse gas inventory, overseeing the external verification of our sustainability data, and identifying and prioritizing a portfolio of strategic sustainable infrastructure projects aligned with our facilities planning and sustainability targets.
Key
Responsibilities:
Gathers, synthesizes, and analyzes annual sustainability data, including our greenhouse gas inventory, using data extraction methods and statistical modeling to support accurate and on-time reporting and the prioritization of sustainability projects.
Oversees external verification of the company's sustainability data, specifically the key short and long-term sustainability goals by gathering supporting documentation and benchmarking online data to suggest innovative solutions to complex problems.
Identifies and prioritizes a portfolio of strategic sustainable infrastructure projects aligned with our 5-year facilities planning and 2030 targets.
Provides project management for stand-alone and corporate-wide projects, including leveraging grant and incentive programs, to ensure efficient and effective execution of strategic sustainability.
Acts as a company-wide resource for specific data outputs on sustainability advisory projects focused on GHG accounting, ESG reporting, target setting, and NetZero strategy development and modeling.
Assists in the development of sustainable and circular economy service offerings in conjunction with our business development teams.
Makes recommendations for sustainability and emission reduction projects utilizing structured and unstructured sustainability and business data.
Engages with collaborators to understand and clearly present technical knowledge, business needs, and sustainability insights to propose solutions that may be leveraged to add value.
Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
Nature and Scope This position reports directly to the Director of Sustainability and may provide mentoring to summer interns in a 10 week structured program.
The incumbent will provide assistance to the Director in selecting projects and defining deliverables.
Education, Experience &
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study including environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or business with a sustainability background or related field.
A master's degree, academic work, or additional training or certification in sustainability is preferred.
Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental principles, concepts, methods, models and processes is critical.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including information and data analysis, and experience using structured and unstructured data tools (SQL, R, Python, Tableau, etc.
) is required.
Communication skill, both verbal and written, coupled with the ability to communicate complex business information in a clear and compelling way is imperative.
Candidates should possess the ability to collaborate, influence, and build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders in a ever-changing environment.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
